CodeBlue’s Advanced Water Damage Restoration Course is approved by the Institute of Inspection, Cleaning & Restoration Certification for the Water Restoration Technician designation. It consists of both classroom and hands-on training for 3 ½ days and finishes with an opportunity to take an IICRC test to earn this certification. The test itself will cost $50., paid directly to the IICRC by cash, check or credit card at the time of the test (typically Wednesday afternoon of the training)..
The CodeBlue fee for this training is $1500., and includes a classroom manual, psychrometric calculator, classroom and hands-on instruction, and meals. Discounted lodging is available and information will be provided upon request. You can pay with cash, check or credit card to CodeBlue, LLC.
The classes start at 8 AM each morning (Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, & Thursday) and end by noon on Thursday. There is homework each day and the hands-on training consists of extracting the water using the latest state-of-the-art equipment and setting-up air movers and dehumidifiers to begin the drying process. Sophisticated moisture meters are used to judge the extent of the damage and track progress. Digital and Infrared photographs are taken as the trainees learn how to hold contractors accountable to industry standards and how to build a detailed and defensible claim file.
Within the curriculum the trainees will learn:
- Identification of Categories and Classes of water losses
- Four Principles of Drying
- How to validate how many air movers should be used on a drying project, what type
should be used, and when they should be removed
- How to validate how much dehumidification is needed and if the dehumidifier is
actually working
- How to effectively use Specialty Extraction Tools and the pros & cons of each
type
- How to dry a structure without performing any demolition
- How to accurately build a detailed and defensible claim file
- How to save real wood and engineered wood flooring
- When and how to use wall cavity and floor drying equipment
- The Standards of the Industry
- How sewage losses should be mitigated
- What to do if microbial growth is discovered on a water loss claim
- & Much, Much More!!
Comfortable clothing is recommended and waterproof shoe protectors will be provided.
Transportation from your hotel to the classroom and flood house will also be provided.
